Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association Announces Endorsement of Kevin Johnson for Sacramento Mayor

Sacramento, CA. – April 30, 2008 – Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SCDSA) announced today that the board of directors voted to endorse Kevin Johnson for Sacramento Mayor.

“After meeting with Mr. Johnson at a recent board meeting, the majority of our board felt confident with his overall platform, his support of law enforcement and labor as well as his ideas for future economic development in the area,” stated Kevin Mickelson, President of Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association.

“Our board asked him some really tough questions regarding the allegations that have been aired recently and were satisfied with his answers. In our country one has always been afforded the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Not only has Mr. Johnson not been found guilty of any charges, no charges have ever been filed in any of the cases being currently tried in our local media. We stand beside the Sacramento Police Officers Association in their endorsement of Mr. Johnson for mayor.” added Mr. Mickelson.
