The Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association announced today that it has obtained copies or four search warrants which allege criminal misconduct by Scott Jones in 2002. On April 15, 2010 a letter was written to former Sheriff Lou Blanas by Association President Kevin Mickelson, asking him to come forward and address the issue once and for all regarding the alleged misconduct of Scott Jones and the related search warrants issued in connection with the alleged misconduct back in 2002, when Blanas was the Sheriff. This morning the law firm of Mastagni, Holstedt, Amick, Miller and Johnsen petitioned the court to unseal four search warrants and the affidavits for those warrants. That request was granted and the four search warrants and accompanying affidavits attached to this press release are now a public record. A press conference is scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Association office located at 1700 I Street. Former Sheriff Blanas, myself and others will be present to answer questions regarding how the investigation, or lack thereof, was conducted. ### Contact Information: David Mastagni, Sr. Mastagni, Holstedt, Amick, Miller and Johnsen 916.812.1771 Kevin Mickelson, President Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association 916.997.3044 |
